Liverpool in for La Liga’s ‘fastest’ player

Iñaki Williams

Liverpool are hoping to swoop in on Athletic Bilbao winger, Iñaki Williams, this month.

Raised through the Bilbao academy, Iñaki is known for operating as a versatile player, attacking both as a winger and a striker.

With rumours of a €20 million release clause for the 21 year old, the Spaniard who has started the season well (scoring 10 goals) could very well become hot property as teams start to take notice of William’s potential.

Now deemed the fastest player in La Liga, (having been clocked at a record-breaking 22.2mph last season) it is thought Williams could provide much needed pace at Liverpool, something which Klopp is known for using a lot of in his team whilst implementing his ‘heavy metal’ football philosophy.

However, competition for the signature of the player this month will be high as it is believed Athletic Bilbao are desperate to get the players signature on a new contract which will see the players buyout clause increase to around €100 million.

With the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal in England as well as Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid in Spain all thought to be watching the player closely; a new deal could prove to be difficult to sign with the temptation of a new exciting challenge.

Now that the two transfer window ban on both Atletico and Real Madrid has been confirmed, the two teams could prove to make desperate attempts to add new players in this window as it will be their last chance for the next year, with Iñaki Williams being one of them.

With all the competition to claim the signature of Williams, one thing for certain is that it will not come easy.
