Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed as Man Utd replace Jose Mourinho


Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been apointed as the new Manchester United manager on an interim basis after the club dismissed Jose Mourinhoafter the club’s worst start to a season in 28-years..

The Old Trafford club appeared to accidentally confirm the Norwegian’s appointment with a video on the club’s official website which pointed out the striker as “our interim manager” yesterday evening, and now that apparent ‘leak’ is official news.

Solskjaer soent 11 years at United as a player, scoring in the Champions League final against Bayern Munich to help the Red Devils secure the treble in 1999, and spent a short period as a reserve coach, working with the likes of Paul Pogba.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s former assistant Mike Phelan will be working with Solskjaer, along with Michael Carrick and Kieran McKenna, with United looking for a coach that has a link to the club.
