Arsenal target, Dayot Upamecano has reportedly refused contract extension from Rb Leipzig. Including Arsenal, hosts of top European team are eyeing up a summer swoop for the France international.
Upamecano has been ever-present in the Rb Leipzig side, as they have mounted a credible title challenge, and they are also in the round of 16 of the UEFA champions league, where they will face Tottenham Hotspur.
According to reports in Germany, Manchester City were considering a January bid for the defender. As well as the Citizens, Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Barcelona were all said to be tracking the player. But no move was made, but the latest update suggests that the player his ready to move in the summer. He has refused to sign a new contract on his existing contract that expires in the summer of 2021.
Although Leipzig are still very hopeful the player will agree to a new deal before summer. Upamecano will have host of suitors by summer, and sources close to the player made it known that he will prefer to play at the Emirates Stadium next season.
Mikel Arteta has already strengthened his defensive line with the acquisition of Pablo Mari for Flamengo in January, he will also be hopeful the deal for Upamecano can be reached.
