Arsenal Sack Unai Emery After 18 Months In Charge

Arsenal have sacked head coach Unai Emery after the club endured the worst run of result since 1992. Arsenal are on a seven games winless run, their last victory coming back in October, a Europa League win against Vitoria de Guimaraes.

They have managed only four wins in 13 League matches this season, and they occupied 8th position, 8 points behind Chelsea in 4th position.

The Spaniard was sacked due to results and performances not being at the required level according to the club statement.

The majority of the fan base win be pleased with the development, as calls for the sack of the manager have intensified in recent weeks.

Former Arsenal winger, Freddie Ljungberg will take charge of the team against Norwich City, while the club searches for a suitable replacement.

Though Ljungberg will be in charge on Sunday when Arsenal travel to Norwhich, Arsenal are expected to bring in a new manager soon.

Max Allegri, Nuno Espirito Santo are two among the likely candidate to replace the departed Spaniard.

Former player and present number 2 to Pep at City, Mikel Arteta is also considered as a possible replacement.But before then, Freddie Ljungberg Will have to steady the ship as interim boss.
