Chelsea are reportedly considering a January move for Bournemouth defender, Nathan Ake. The Blues were cleared to sign players last week after their appeal against a two-window transfer ban was heard at CAS.
It is understood that manager Frank Lampard has a transfer kitty worth £150 million and he has hinted on the possibility of bringing in a defender in the winter transfer market, as there is continued concern over the long term fitness of Antonio Rudiger.
Nathan Ake was sold by the Blues to Bournemouth for £20 million after a successful loan spell with The Cherries.
Nathan Ake is valued at £70 million but the Blues can get the 24-year old for £40 million due to the buy-back clause inserted in the contract that took Ake to the Vitality stadium.
The Dutch international will be a very good addition to the Blues, he has got a good left foot and he is good on the ball.
He was a subject of strong interest from Manchester United in the summer, and Bournemouth demanded £70 million but the Red Devils eventually settled for Harry Maguire of Leicester City for a similar fee.
Nathan Ake is currently injured as he picked up a knock in Bournemouth 3-0 lose against table topper, Liverpool, over the weekend.
