Chelsea are ready to splash out on Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana according to reports from Holland. The Blues have been linked with the Cameroon international in recent months and there had been speculations regarding his valuation.
However Chelsea are now willing to meet Ajax’s €30m valuation for Onana, says Voetbal International. Blues manager Frank Lampard is determined to land a new first-choice goalkeeper this summer after dropping Kepa for the crunch Premier League meeting with Wolves on Sunday.
Onana is among a number of goalkeepers linked with a move to Stamford Bridge but the Blues were initially put off by Ajax’s asking price. In April, Onana said: “My time has come to take a step.” This suggested to many that the stopper was looking for a new challenge this summer and Stamford Bridge appears to be his destination. There are talks of a potential switch to Barcelona for the stopper but it is unlikely that he would want to play second fiddle to Marc Andre Ter-Stegen at the Nou Camp
