Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was coy when asked about a potential swoop for Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara. The former Barcelona man has been strongly linked with a move to Anfield in recent days.
The midfielder has less than a year left on his existing contract and Bayern Munich are opened to selling him for a cut-price. This was recently confirmed by one of the club chiefs and it is widely expected that he leaves Bavaria in the summer
Klopp who knows a lot of Alcantara during his time in Germany was non-committal when quizzed about rumours of a potential move.
“Would you be surprised if I don’t give an answer on that, just because I never answer these kind of questions,” he said. Klopp further extolled the virtues of the player and revealed his love for his playing abilities.
“Thiago Alcantara is a really good player. Like a lot of other players out there, I like (him) a lot. But that’s all I have to say about that
It is understandable that Klopp does not want to speak about a player from another team but all indications shows that the talented playmaker is likely to end up at Liverpool.
