Liverpool eager to sign new deal with Dutch midfielder

Liverpool are currently trying to convince midfielder Gini Wijnaldum on a new contract according to reports. The Dutch international has been a major feature for the Reds since his arrival some seasons back.

Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims that the Reds are working hard to renew his deal with the club but an agreement is yet to be finalised by both parties.

It is also believed that the impending transfer of Thiago Alcantara could play a role as the Dutchman feels his place is at stake.

However, Romano says that the Reds are not close to signing the Spanish ace with a transfer bid yet to be submitted to Bayern Munich.

An agreement has yet to be found, bit it’s likely both parties will decide to extend his contract. Wijnaldum is a fans favourite and it will be surprising if the club fails to tie him onto a new deal.
