Barcelona chiefs are convinced of striking a deal with Manchester City starlet, Eric Garcia. The former Barcelona player who moved to Manchester City at the age of 17 is a top priority target for Barca this summer and the player’s decision of not signing a new contract has already encouraged those at Nou camp.
Mundo Deportivo says Barca have now been further motivated with news that City are on the verge of signing Nathan Ake from Bournemouth. There’s a belief that City’s push for Ake will further push Garcia down the pecking order at Manchester City.
Barca are willing to go all out and pay cash this summer for the youngster although not at his current valuation of €16m fee set by his employers.
Blaugrana president, Joseph Martha Bartomeu aims to talk down City’s assessment of the player given the fact that they lost Garcia for nothing three years ago.
Ever since earning the trust of manager Pep Guardiola, 19-year old Spanish defender Eric García has shown maturity beyond his years, a calmness at the back when on the ball which is superior to veterans John Stones and Nicolás Otamendi, and in the process has become a sensation for Manchester City.
It is obvious to see why Barcelona are keen on signing the Spanish professional footballer due to his flexibility having played as a centre back as well as a right-back at City.
