Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial once again made sure Manchester united moved back to the top half of the Premier League as they both combined well to against Brighton at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils were never in danger in the opening exchanges as they found themselves 2-0 up thanks to Ander Pereira and Davy Pooper who beats his own goalkeeper.
The Red Devils who impressed in their last outing at the Europa League against Partizan, both Martial and Rashford were instrumental and they both took the form to the Premier League over the weekend.
United were cruising till Pereira switched off and gave Lewis Dunk the chance to head home. Brighton were suddenly back into the game. But it didn’t take too long for Rashford to restore the two-goal cushion.
United could have added a couple of more goals as Danny James and Brandon Williams going close. The victory was marred by a late ankle injury to McTominay, the midfielder was left in considerable pain.
This has been a roller-coaster season for Brighton so far, the same can not be said about United who has experienced a mixed performance in the course of the season, but in recent weeks United have shown signs of a team who is back for the top chase.
United will face the high flying Sheffield United after the International break while Brighton will host Leceister city in the next round of matches.
