Manchester United have been given the nod to sign Juventus midfielder Emre Can according to reports from England. It has been on the news in recent days that the Old Trafford outfit was interested in the German international and it appears that a transfer could be reached in the coming days.
Can has been out of favour this season in Italy following the summer signings of Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey by Juventus. It is understood that although the player wanted to fight for a place in the team, the omission of his name from the Champions League squad was the final straw.
It is expected that the 25-year-old will leave in January with a number of clubs including Manchester United monitoring his situation. English tabloid Sky Sports revealed that Juventus have set an asking price of £35million for the central midfielder.
Can will no doubt increase the quality in midfield with the likes of Fred and Matic struggling to perform on a consistent basis. The Red Devils have also failed to adequately replace the exits of Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini in the summer.
United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to have given his approval for the transfer as he seeks reinforcements in the midfield. Manchester United could face some competition with the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Lyon reportedly interested in the player.
