Manchester United Linked With Valencia Defender

Manchester United are getting closer towards signing Jose Gaya from Valencia according to report from Spanish publication Deporte Valenciano.

Manchester United see the position at the left side of defence as a priority given Luke Shaw’s fitness issues and the expiration of veteran Ashley Young’s contract at the end of the season.

Jose Gaya has caught the eyes of Manchester United’s scout with his consistent performances in Laliga. Gaya is now a possible target during the winter transfer window.

Jose Gaya who has been capped five times by the Spanish national team is considered an upgrade to Luke Shaw, whose injury crisis have let him down since his switch from Southampton.

He did make a come back to start over the weekend against the Champions, Manchester City, but he didn’t see out the match as he was subbed late on in the game after taking a knock.

Ole will be hopeful the addition of Gaya will bolster his backline and possibly form a formidable base that includes fellow duo summer signing, Harry Maguire and Wan Bissaka.

Jose Gaya packs a lot of experience at 24, an Academy graduate of Valencia, he made his debut in 2012 and has gone to make over 190 appearances for the club. He made his international debut last year featuring the entire 6-0 home route of Croatia for the UEFA nation league.
