Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has revealed that he remains hopeful of keeping hold of on-loan Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
Henderson is reportedly in demand after another stellar season at Sheffield United with a host of clubs interested in his services. Although currently on-loan from Manchester United, the 23-year-old is regarded as one of the best in England.
This has brought about speculations regarding his future with some outlets suggesting that he could replace Kepa at Chelsea.
Wilder was asked again about his prospects of bringing the Manchester United goalkeeper back for a third season.
Wilder said, “He’s Manchester United’s player, he’s had a terrific season for us, we’d love to extend that for another year, but Dean is their player and they’ll make that decision with him.
If we had the ability or opportunity to get him for another year, we’d obviously take it – he’s been outstanding for us. It is highly unlikely that Henderson remains at Sheffield with the growing frustrations on Manchester United stopper David De Gea reaching record volumes.
