French side AS Monaco are interested in a summer transfer for Tottenham fullback Serge Aurier. The Ivory Coast international has been linked with a move in the summer and a return to France could be on the cards.
Sky Sports reports that the fullback is on the radar of the French side who have begun inquiries on a possible transfer. Aurier has not fully convinced since making the switch to Spurs from PSG and has made several high profile mistakes.
Manager Jose Mourinho is also not fully convinced that the 27-year-old is a longtime solution and is keen on selling this summer. It is understood that a sale could provide necessary funds for the club to get a suitable replacement.
Aurier on his day is an excellent fullback full of pace and power but is very inconsistent. Tottenham could get a good fee for the defender who is entering his peak years and this could be a good deal for both parties. Aurier has made 35 competitive appearances this season and has two years left on his existing deal.
