AS Roma starlet Nicolo Zaniolo has emerged as a transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur. Although it’s unlikely a deal will be struck in the upcoming transfer window according to various reports Italy. But Spurs have indicated an interest for a future deal.
Zaniolo rose to prominence following his breakout season in 2018-2019 season which saw him score six times in all competitions, including an impressive brace in Roma’s Champions League round of 16 clash against Porto in Rome.
Italian giants Juventus and Inter Milan have been reported with holding an interest in the young midfielder, while The Guardian reports that Tottenham are also tracking the progress of the talented youngster.
Spurs board see Zaniolo as a player built to excel in the EPL due to his impressive physique and they see him as a huge prospect for the future.
Spurs manager Jose Mourinho, however, rightly doesn’t see the Italian as a top priority this summer – with Mourinho more concerned about bringing in a defensive midfielder and probably a defender to replace the departing Jan Veteoghen.
Tottenham offered £30m for Zaniolo’s services last summer but were rebuffed by Roma, who demanded a much higher fee for the 21 year old.
