Tottenham Hotspur are considering a summer move for Crystal Palace defender Patrick van Aanholt. Spurs need to strengthen the left hand side of their defence with a permanent signing and they have identified Van Aanholt as the ideal player to help bolster their squad.
The North London side sent Danny Rose on loan to Newcastle United during the winter transfer window and they are yet to make any replacement in that department. Rose is expected to return to North London at the expiration of his loan deal at the end of the season, but it appears there will be no way back for him in the squad.
Rose fell out with new manager Jose Mourinho December last year and he has been frozen out of the squad since then.
Van Aanholt, 29, is expected to help bolster the side’s left side of the defence. He is an integral part of Roy Hodgson’s side and his experience will be vital for Mourinho’s side.
Van Aanholt is known for his endless run down the left flank and attacking prowess will be appreciated within a squad who has suffered for real creativity down the flank in recent years.
