According to reports, Real Madrid could try to tempt Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen by using Gareth Bale as part of a deal.
Bale has been very disappointing this season, in a season which could have seen him become the main man at Real Madrid by replacing Cristiano Ronaldo following the Portuguese star’s departure to Juventus last summer.
The Wales superstar has scored just 7 goals in his last 21 La Liga appearances this season so far, which is well below the tally he had last season. At the moment his average is 1 goal every 189 minutes which is not as good as his 2017-18 season when he had a goal every 110 minutes on the pitch.
He was substituted off after an hour of football in last night’s El Clasico defeat to Barcelona – a result that practically ends their slight hopes of catching up to their fierce La Liga rivals.
Real president Florentino Perez secured Bale’s services in 2013 with the long-term view that he wouldn’t need to buy another star name to eventually replace Ronaldo.
