According to Football.london, Tottenham are in advanced talks for defender Cristian Romero and goalkeeper Gollini from Serie side Atalanta.
The duo could make their way to White Hart Lane this Summer in a bid to improve Tottenham’s defence, which has become a priority for the North London club and their director of football Fabio Paratici.
Improving Tottenham’s defence is a priority for new football manager director Fabio Paratici and he has been working on a number of deals simultaneously.
They are closing in on a deal for Bologna centre-back Takehiro Tomiyasu, but he is only likely to join after the Olympics.
Spurs are also known to be in the market for one more defender and it has been reported earlier this month that they are in advanced negotiations to sign Argentina defender Romero from Atalanta.
Last week, their top target Jules Kounde refused an approach from the club, this meant that Spurs have to move to plan b.
The Argentine had a fantastic season on loan at Atalanta last season and the Serie A side have an option to buy him on a permanent deal.
Although they will be exercising the option to sign the defender on a permanent deal, it seems Atalanta are open to cashing in on the defender and Tottenham have moved in to try and sign him on a generous profit for the Italian side.
Spurs are also in advanced negotiations for Romero’s team-mate and Atalanta goalkeeper Gollini.
Tottenham want to bring in a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris and it seems Gollini has been identified as their top target.
The addition of Pierluigi Gollini should increase the confidence levels of Tottenham’s players — and the fans too. This sort of confidence should give the fans renewed energy to continue to show their support for Tottenham around the world — pubs, stadiums and betting sites like Vwin which is already one of Asia’s leading betting sites.
Gollini is expected to be brought in on an initial loan with a buying option for a $13 million fee. Paratici already believes that the celebrated Atalanta goal stopper will feature heavily in Tottenham’s future.
Gollini’s experience makes him a desirable target for Nuno Espirito’s Tottenham. He’s played with some of the Premier League’s big clubs including Manchester United and a brief spell at Aston Villa. He has also played a key role in Atalanta’s recent two-year run in the Champions League.
Last season in the Premier League saw Hugo Lloris play every minute of every game in the PL. Gollini’s presence will do well to ease the burden of Lloris to make a much healthier and deeper Spurs squad.
The arrival of a new sporting director and football manager — Fabio Paratici and Nuno Espirito — is proof that Tottenham wants to change directions, for better. Despite talks of leaving, Nuno has stated that Harry Kane is still fully committed to Tottenham.
Combined with the possible signing of Gollini and Romero, there’s still great hope for success for the Spurs next season.
These new changes offer a fresh perspective for Tottenham supporters. Sports bettors on Vwin and many other betting sites will definitely not be overlooking Spurs in their selection for the season.
